Title: Molly's Way
Synopsis:
On one of those days when the sky seems to vomit its bile, Molly, a young Irish woman shows up in a small town in Poland. Dragging a red rolling suitcase, she wanders the muddy streets to find Marcin, the man she only spend one night with and who she loved for only a day...
„ Sometimes you have to lose your way, to find a better way“. The key of the film falls from the lips of a good willed taxi driver who finds Molly in the middle of nowhere. She says she’s searching for Marcin, but in reality it’s herself she’s trying to find. Helped by an excellent camera, who doesn’t romanticise nor protect it’s heroine but succeeds in staying sensitive and respectful , Emily Atef tells a modern fable. She proves of a high maturity which translates in an immense sense of the image and dramaturgy. Mairead McKinley gives a sensitive performance as Molly, the brave and tender Irish girl, blue wooly hat screwed on her head, who strays through the sordid. She confronts the voyage of misery which reveals how looking for what you want sometimes leads you to finding what you need.
